Spring Bird Charm Easy Rainbow Loom Tutorial ~ Bubble Blossom Blog

Hello Everyone , 

Today I am going to be showing you an original design that I created . I decided to design this because I couldn't find any easy spring bird charm loom tutorials on the internet.  This is the finished charm : 

You will need : 

A loom and a hook 

3 orange bands 

2 black bands 

approx. 38 bands for the body

Step 1 : 

Use a single body coloured band to go downwards in the middle. Take double body coloured bands and go diagonally to the right and then do the same to the left. 

Step 2 : 

Go downwards with the same coloured bands on the next three sets of pins . 

Step 3 : 

Repeat step 2 again . 

Step 4 : 

Place another set of double bands on the next set of pins in the middle row.

Step 5 :  

Close off the creation by placing a set of double bands diagonally on the left and then the right . 

Step 6 : 

Place on the black bands as cap bands on the pins shown above . 

Step 7 : 

Place an orange single capband on your hook. 

 

Hook double orange bands onto your hook and pull the capband onto the double bands. 

Fold over the other end of the loops onto your hook . You should end up with this . 

Step 8 : 

Place the beak on the pin shown above . Ensure you fold the loops over. (Ignore the triangles across the loom .)

Step 9: 

Repeat the steps you did to make the beak twice over with body coloured bands to create the wings. Place them on the pins shown above. 

Step 10:

Place single body coloured triangular bands across the pins shown above . Place a body coloured cap band on the bottom middle pin. 

Step 11 : 

Hook the eyes over the horizontal band to sinch them in at the center . Remember to GO OVER the horizontal band NOT BEHIND. 

Step 12 : 

Hook the first 3 bands on the bottom , going to the left , middle and right. Then hook the next row of three vertical bands. 

Step 13 : 

Hook the next set of three vertical bands and then hook the diagonal bands inwards to the middle pin. 

Step 14 : 

Hook the top middle band. Finally . pull the bottom band on that top pin over the top band to create a slip knot . It should look like the photo directly above. 

Step 15 : 

Rip your creation gently from the loom . If you have followed the above steps correctly , you should have something like this :
